The Rainbow Room on Mandela Rhodes Place St. George’s Mall is one of Cape Town’s newest music clubs. The club is in an acoustically designed basement (former wine cellar) of an upscale residency hotel and spa. Launched in 2010, the club pays tribute to local South African and international jazz performers. The Rainbow Room seats 175 people for live jazz performances and offers delicious Cape-inspired food and drinks.
The complex also features an impressive arts center where local writers, painters, sculptors, and musicians showcase their skills. I have enjoyed several performances at The Rainbow Room and highly recommend the club.
