National Theatre has a Sunday morning chamber music concert. It’s a small audience of less than 100 people seated in the foyer – a special, low-key experience.

This year, the National Theatre has modest Christmas decorations, including artistic nutcrackers and lights in front and Christmas trees in the vestibule. A Christmas tradition, Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker, is appearing into January 2023, and all performances are sold out.

The fantastic musicians performed Franz Schubert’s String Quintet in C major, D. 956:
- Sho Akamatsu Violin
- Ivo Jukić Violin
- Lucija Brnadić Viola
- Smiljan Mrčela Cello
- Jasen Chelfi Cello
During December, I’m looking forward to more performances at the National Theatre. Weather has been rainy and cold, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see snow any day. The walk from my apartment to the theater was full of amusement – dogs dressed in raincoats and small animated children learning how to manipulate umbrellas.
