Bratislava Slovakia

OMG – maybe not a great way to start a blog post, but my initial reaction after arriving in Bratislava. Language is a considerable barrier, but the city seems oddly familiar. It’s very different than Vienna in every way and much less dense – fewer people on foot and light automobile traffic. The food is delicious!

I succeeded in getting a SIM card with plenty of data and a transportation pass for riding the subway and trams, so exploring can begin. The EU now issues inexpensive SIMs that can be used in multiple countries! Finally, a stop to Internet exploitation.

The weather has been wonderful – high 60s during the day and 50s at night. As long as it’s not too cold, I will remain in Europe and then, maybe head south. Mostly uncaptioned photos of the central city and parts of Old Town are attached – more later.

Great photos! The area along the Danuabe is beautiful, and of course the magnificent castles are always exciting. I’m taking a bit of a break from posting and just enjoying traveling :)…. Have tickets for ballet, opera, and philharmonic performances!!
