Yesterday I took a day trip to Trogir, a historic old Croatian town and harbor on the Adriatic coast. Trogir is another example of a place where word and photo descriptions are inadequate.
It took longer than expected to get to Trogir from Split – over an hour each way via bus – but it was worth the time. Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best preserved small medieval towns in Europe. Part of Trogir occupies an island and has beautiful beaches surrounded by hills covered in lavender.

Trogir doesn’t disappoint. It produces one captivating site after another – especially the Venetian Cathedral of St. Lovro!
Dinner at a favorite café and a slow walk along the promenade on the way back to my apartment watching the harbor and listening to a mix of European accents ended a beautiful and satisfying day.
